Ebook in collaboration

During this project it’s been very exciting to work with far-away teachers and  on the new web browser-friendly version of Book Creator. It was an idea coming from my experience, but it was my first time in collaborating way. It was even a soddisfaction to help my project collegues in sharing all their activities in the ebook of the experience.

How to introduce to coding

Let's join codeweek has been  a great opportunity for me to introduce my  students to coding. Learning to code can sound drammaticaly, but I have started to use CS First  to my classrooms as an easy first step into the world of coding, with Scratch. In the activity, students create stories or games with tutorials prepared for them and become day after day better and confident in problem solving and how to code.
This project has been a great opportunity to work in collaboration and with fun.

The importance of being a teacher of this project

In recent years, numerous coding and STEM projects have been implemented to involve more and more teachers and students. The development of STEM in teaching is closely linked to the collaboration between teachers and between schools.  eTwinning  offers  a huge amount of help in becoming a community of good practices. I asked to partecipate to Let's join Codeweek 2019 because I wanted to start a cooperation between European teachers about coding, in order  to develop knowledge and good practices, following the previously agreed-upon guidelines, written by expert teachers in the matter. Then, I wanted that my students  improved problem solving and computational thinking. My students were  very happy to have friends so far away. They worked on a mixed country team for the first time. Moreover the evaluation phase helps students and teachers to check the work. It’s useful to face with other methodologies because we become more and more aware what we have done and what to do next. It was a great opportunity.

We present to the students the project "Let's Join CodeWeek 2019" and make the panel on which we will post all the details about it!

We form our work team!

We start working on the robots so we can program them to put on the test ground!
The robots are ready to test! There it is!

We work with binary numbers so that we understand how to encode computer information!
